Gowan Rest Areas, situated along the Newell Highway near Coonabarabran, have been developed in collaboration with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). The project encompasses three Double Disabled Modular rest areas, strategically designed to be Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant, with a unique challenge of being remote sites devoid of any existing services.

The key objectives set for the Gowan Rest Areas underscored the need for a cost-effective and resilient solution that could be swiftly implemented. The demand for construction, installation, and operational readiness within an ambitious eight-week timeframe added an additional layer of complexity to the project. Despite the remote nature of the sites, where basic services were unavailable, the facilities were required to be fully functional within this tight schedule.

Furthermore, each rest area had specific infrastructure needs, including the installation of water tanks/stands, septic systems, and holding tanks. These necessities were critical to ensure the self-sufficiency and sustainability of each site, considering the absence of external services in the remote locations.

In addressing these requirements, our team approached the project with a keen focus on efficiency, utilizing innovative construction methods to deliver cost-effective, durable, and fully compliant modular structures. The time-sensitive nature of the project necessitated meticulous planning and streamlined execution, emphasizing our commitment to meeting and exceeding client expectations.

As a result, the Gowan Rest Areas now stand as functional and accessible havens along the Newell Highway, offering travelers a safe and comfortable space to rest. This project exemplifies our capacity to navigate unique challenges, delivering solutions that seamlessly integrate into remote landscapes while adhering to stringent timelines and compliance standards.
